Obituary of Anne Modzelewski

Anne Modzelewski (nee Busenda), age 94, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2017 at Carmel Richmond Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph (1979), loving mother of Joseph and his wife, Jean, Barbara Ferrito and her husband, John, Larry and his wife, Maureen, and Ruth Anne Kahmann and her companion, Robert Rispoli; cherished grandmother of Lisa Radcliffe (James), John Ferrito, Anne Marie Anhouse (Michael), Joseph Modzelewski, Jeanette Modzelewski, Larry Modzelewski (Laila), Victoria Skonieczny (Scott), Matthew Modzelewski, Ryan Modzelewski (Shanna); devoted great-grandmother of 8; dear sister of Jean Maloney, the late Angela Reno, and the late Matthew Busenda; fond sister-in-law of Terri Modzelewski, and Coylie Modzelewski. Anne was lifelong resident of Staten Island, born in West Brighton where she resided until she married and moved to Travis in 1943. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling (including trips to Atlantic City), reading, art, playing cards. She was a member of the St. Anthony’s Ladies Auxilliary and former member of the Willowbrook AARP group. Being with family brought her the greatest joy and she was the one that everyone in the entire family turned to for advice.
