Obituary of Calvin C. Hartford

Calvin C. Hartford, age 80, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2017 at Golden Gate Rehabilitation Center. He was born on June 24, 1937, in Hamilton, Montana. He was raised there, went to school there, and worked on a ranch there. He was a cowboy. He later joined the Marines and served during the Korean War. Calvin moved to Staten Island thirty years ago, settling in the Manor Heights section. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, fishing with his grandsons, shooting rifles and bow and arrow at the range. He was proud to be from Montana, who loved the outdoors, and loved the “big sky country.” Mr. Hartford is described as someone who was very friendly and loved to make new friends. He was a member of the Gold Star Post VFW on Victory Boulevard, as well as a life member of the Marine Corps league.
