Event: Learn About Memorial Day

Matthew Funeral Home is offering an opportunity for children of the community to learn about Memorial Day. Join us for a memorial mass and a tribute to those who served our country on Monday, May 30th, at 9:30 AM. The service will be held at Our Lady of Pity Roman Catholic Church, which is located at 1616 Richmond Ave. 

Memorial Day Mass

The church will be hosting the mass outside of the church, at their Five Star Post Monument, #1857 American Legion. The monument is located near the rear parking lot. During the service, 5 Congressional Medal of Honor recipients will be recognized:

Sergeant William Shemin - US Army, WWI
Sergeant Henry Johnson - US Army, WWI
Lieutenant Vincent R. Capodanno - US Navy, Vietnam War
Private Joseph F Merrell - US Army, WWII

If you are planning on attending or marching in the memorial day parade, you will have ample time to get there after the ceremony ends.
