Matthew Funeral Home was founded over 50 years ago by the Scamardella family. Today, three generations of Scamardellas have worked as funeral directors here. Family-owned and operated funeral homes are becoming more scarce these days, but they bring a level of commitment and a personal touch to a service that can be important to grieving families. In this article, we will cover some of the many reasons that families choose a family-owned funeral home like ours.

Personal Touch

Family funeral directors bring a personal touch to their business like no other. It is our goal to serve you and your family in your time of need. When dealing with the loss of a loved one, care and compassion are essential.

Customizable Services

Many private funeral homes look to churn out as many clients as possible as quickly as they can. At Matthew Funeral Home, we work closely with you to provide the services you need to fit your family. We can help you personalize your loved one’s funeral service as much as you need. We are happy to accommodate or assist in special circumstances. From military services to schedules that can accommodate family members travelling in, it is important to our family that your loved one’s funeral meets the needs of your family.

Community-Focused Care

Our funeral directors are familiar with the needs and cultural traditions of our community. With 3 generations behind our more than 50 years of service, we know how to take care of families who come to us. Our funeral directors take pride in the service we bring to grieving families across Staten Island.

Quality You Can Trust

Family-owned funeral homes often thrive on providing for community members and returning families. The quality of care we provide for families is why we have been a part of Staten Island for over 50 years. We don’t cut corners or rush you through your funeral service. Our goal is to provide much-needed care and support through a difficult time for your family.

For over 50 years, Matthew Funeral Home has been serving the Staten Island community. We can help with almost every aspect of your loved one’s memorial service. Our family is here to serve yours, every step of the way.
