Obituary of Gerard D. Hoffmann

Gerard D Hoffmann (Jerry), 62, of Westerleigh, passed away on December 3, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Ruth-Ayubo-Hoffmann for 23 years; loving father of Ryan, Peter, Julia, and Renee’; and dear brother of Glen, brother-in-law Ariel Ayubo, and the late sister-in-law Elma Zamora Jerry was born and raised on Staten Island, graduated from McKee High School, and attended the College of Staten Island. He worked as an electrician most of his life, attained his Master Electrician license and spent the remainder of his career at K10 Electric. Jerry was passionate about many things, aside from his family, his interest included model trains, radio-controlled planes and boats, building and fixing almost anything, and especially race cars (including the one he was building for his son Peter). His interest was extended in jazz music as he played bass guitar in a band in his younger days. One thing he truly loved was watching his younger children play their sport, specially ice hockey. Jerry’s life was rich and diverse and even though he was a simple man who had a want for nothing, gave so much to others without trying. He has touched many lives and his imprint will be on our hearts forever. He surely will be missed. Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on December 7, from 3:30 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday, December 8, at 10:00am, followed by interment in Moravian Cemetery. Due to the pandemic, all visitors must wear masks, and the number of visitors allowed into the funeral home will be limited by 25% capacity at a time
