Rene I remember so vividly your courting days in Trinidad where fiends of family were considered family. My last memory of Carl was him taking me to Manhattan after Philips wedding,long long time ago but I never forgot how he never got flustered or lost his cool having being lost for more than an hour. What can you say about Carl or "Da" as we say.. he really was a great guy, not many like him left in this world. Yeah… he was cantankerous (as rens would say) but would be the first one in line to help you out of a jam. You would have a hard time finding someone that he knew that he hasn’t helped. It will be tough working on the car or something in the house without my general foreman sitting in a chair supervising. You will be missed

One of the kindest, most helpful people I have known. I'll never forgot when you helped me buy my first car. The world lost a quiet, but strong husband, father and grandfather. Carl, I miss you so much, just can’t believe you’ve left us, but my memory of you will be foremost in my thoughts and heart, especially the fun times we had growing up in Trinidad. I am very sad now but joy will come when we meet in the presence of our Savior. You were such a joy to be around and always up for “an ole talk”.
Whenever we needed you during our car troubles you were there for us, with a generous smile, from ear to ear.
