Brent and Jared,
It is with great shock and sadness that we write this to you. We just found out last night about Pete. So sorry to hear of your dad's passing. Pete had become quite close to us ever since our son, Connor became his first ballplayer/student at The Bat Yard. For the last ten years he continued to mentor our son all thru little league and high school sports and got him recognized down South. Connor is now playing ball at The University of South Carolina-Aiken.
Pete was very instrumental in getting Connor to be a better ball player both physically and especially mentally. Your dad continued to work with Connor even though he was not doing well physically. We believe it was his love of the game, his love of Connor and his passion for teaching that kept him going. We had just spoke to him a few weeks ago and knew he was finally feeling much better after his long road of suffering. We had also been enjoying Thanksgiving with him for the last couple of years as he had become like family to us. He treated Connor as a son and Connor looked up to him and took his advice when he would not take it from anyone else.
It is quite hard to believe we will not speak to him or see him again. It is such a big loss for all. Our thoughts are with you both at this challenging time. We will always be grateful for all that he has done for Connor and our friendship that developed over the years.
Respectfully,
Sandi, Craig, Connor and Shannon Christensen

I am heartbroken. Peter, you were not only my cousin, but one of my first friends. Growing up we spent so much time together and I still have such wonderful memories of those times. As we grew, I remember going to your baseball practices and cheering you on during your games. I am so blessed and happy that over the last few years we were able to reconnect. I will miss our long phone conversations. Your memory is one keepsake with which I'll never part....I will always have you in my heart. I hope you are at rest and have found peace. Love....Carol
