Obituary of Richard L. Roth
Richard Roth, 83, of Staten Island, passed away peacefully on July 14. He was the beloved husband for fifty years of the late Maria; loving father of Donna, Mary Ann, Richard and his wife Kerri; cherished grandfather of Jason, Steven, Jacob and Taylor.
Richard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After retiring as an Accountant, his love for animals grew as he started volunteering at the Staten Island Zoo. He did this for many years. He especially loved handling the snakes and educating the school kids about the snakes. Richard was nicknamed the "Snake Man" by the kids he met at the zoo.

Funeral from the Matthew Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, departing at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rita's R.C. Church at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow in Colonial Memorial Park, Hamilton, NJ. Family and friends may visit on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
