Obituary of Robert S. Harris

In loving Memory Robert Harris Robert "Bobby" Harris, age 78, of Staten Island, NY, succumbed to cancer and passed away peacefully on February11, 2018. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and a friend to all. Robert is survived by his wife Linda of 44 years, daughter Kirsten, son Robert, granddaughter Summer, grandson Robert, many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. Bob served with the U.S. Coast Guard and then went on to serve the City of New York for twenty years as a decorated N.Y.P.D. Police Officer. After he retired he continued working in many jobs that gave him the most fulfillment and satisfaction. Jobs that engaged him in life, meeting people and nurturing enriching relationships. His final job was an acting role in an independent film. He endeavored for 30+ years until he was forced to stop due to his illness. He enjoyed sports and played golf as if it were a religion. He also enjoyed cooking, reading and politics. Bob, Bobby was always there to help friends and strangers with whatever they needed with no thought of reward or compensation. He will be missed and remembered by all he touched. A special thank you to all our friends and family for making a very difficult transition a thoughtful and caring process. There will be a memorial mass at Castleton Hill Moravian Church 1657 Victory Blvd. March 3rd at 11AM with a reception to follow.
