Obituary of Bernadette Rozzi

Bernadette Rozzi (Gonsieski) On Saturday, January 7th, Bernadette Rozzi, 74, a beloved mother and grandmother passed away surrounded by her family. Born to Joe and Florence Rozzi, Bernadette fought a tough battle against COPD. Bernadette’s heart and soul was her family and pets. A mother of 5 children, Michelle Gonsieski, Michael Gonsieski, Dawn Cassara, Nicole Virga, and Gregory Gonsieski and their spouses. The most important role of her life was being a grandmother to her 6 grandchildren, Devin Gonsieski, Sabrina Gonzalez, Nicholas and Gianna Cassara, and Gabriella and Victoria Virga. Bernadette leaves behind a sister Patty, and her nephew Christopher and her niece Dena. Bernadette was one of a kind. She was funny, loving, and caring. She loved to dress up, sing and dance. She had a beautiful garden and was a delicious cook. She will be missed by her extended family and friends. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Saturday, 1/14, departing at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Adalbert’s R.C. Church at 10:00 am. Interment to follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, Long Island, NY. Family and friends may visit on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or ASPCA, organizations Bernadette felt strongly about.
