Obituary of Ronald H. Christensen

Ron Christensen, a native of Staten Island, NY, peacefully passed away at his home. Born on February 5, 1946, to Eleanor and Haakon Christensen in Mariners Harbor, Ron had a passion for sports, particularly basketball, which he started playing at a young age at PS 44.  His early success in the sport led him to become the captain of the Port Richmond basketball team. During his high school years, he met his wife Kathleen Cipolli, with whom he raised three boys, Doug, Jeff, and Glen, in their home in Westerleigh.

After retiring from the NYC Police Department, Ron co-founded K&R Stationery with Cathy. Together, they ran a successful business for many years before selling it and pursuing other career opportunities. Ron was preceded in death by Cathy, his beloved wife, who inspired him to explore life, travel, and experience new things. They had a close-knit group of friends who were like family to them, sharing many memorable moments together.

Whether it was bowling in a league, attending shows at PNC Arts Center, taking trips to their house upstate, visiting the racetrack in Saratoga, or enjoying a getaway to Atlantic City, Ron and Cathy lived life to the fullest, creating cherished memories for all. Ron is survived by his six grandchildren, Tyler, Kailey, Haakon, Audrey, Gavin, and Conrad, as well as his daughters-in-law, Kathy and Jen.

Ron will be dearly missed by all who knew him. As we remember Ron, let us cherish the memories we shared with him and his family. Their legacy lives on through the experiences and moments we have all shared together.
