Obituary of William "Billy" Gott

William F. Gott, 70, of Meiers Corners passed away on April 9th, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved son of Mildred and Robert Gott . William known as " Billy" is survived by his wife Christine Gott, his three daughters Amy Milone, Tara Gott and Erin Migdalen and his eight grandchildren. He is also the loving brother of Marianne Mele and Robert Gott. William also had a special place in his heart for his niece Catherine Mione and nephew Stephen Coffey. Born and raised on Staten Island Billy graduated from Port Richmond HS and shortly after was drafted to the Vietnam War. While in the war he married is loving wife Christine Lawless. After returning he went back to work on Wall Street for Gintel & Company for over 20 years. Billy enjoyed reading, traveling, completing the NY Times crossword puzzle, walking in Clove Lakes Park. and meeting up with his friends for drinks. Above all he loved his family especially his eight grandchildren who referred to him as " Grampy". He always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say. The Funeral is from the Matthew Funeral Home Inc, on Saturday, departing at 9:15 am. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Rita's R.C. Church at 10 am. Internment will be private. Family and friends are asked to visit on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to www.pulmonaryfibrosisfoundation.org in Billy's name would be greatly appreciated.
